FORMER guitarist Greg Steele has joined seminal LA glamsters Faster Pussycat on stage at a Hollywood gig, staying for most of the show.
Steele, who was last a fulltime member of the band some 13 years ago, took to the stage at the Whiskey A Gogo 15 minutes into the band’s set to celebrate the Sunset Boulevard venue’s 50th birthday.
He stayed until 10 minutes from the end, ripping through hits such as “House Of Pain” and “Nonstop To Nowhere”. Sporting short hair, leather pants and a white collared shirt, Steele spent most of his extended cameo grinning broadly.
“I love this guy,” singer Taime Downe told the audience. “I love him more than he loves me,” Steele responded.
Steele left Faster Pussycat in 2001, midway through a reunion tour. The line-up has been the subject of an ongoing soap opera ever since, with guitarist Brent Muscat forming his own Faster Pussycat and touring Europe at one stage.
Faster Pussycat recently added a new guitarist, Ace Von Johnson. Towards the end of the January 25 Whiskey show, Downe appeared to clash with a roadie, shoving him, for not bringing him a Seattle Seahawks cap to wear for the final song.
