Skid Row: Now Aussies by osmosis?

THEY might just be Australia’s new favorite son-in-laws.
Skid Row have signed with Aussie label Golden Robot, where they join the likes of Rose Tattoo, Gilby Clark, Dizzy Reed, Kings X, Palace of the King and The Lazys.
Bassist Rachel Bolan says the band, South African singer ZP Theort in tow, will continue to release EPs rather than albums.
“The idea really appealed to me,” he said in a statement released by the record company, “especially with the constantly changing musical climate.
“I like the idea of a steady flow of new music, as opposed to releasing a full-length album then riding it for the next two years.
‘We are beyond excited to announce that we have signed with Golden Robot Records. The label is the perfect balance between old-school way of thinking with digital age sensibilities.
“We can think of no better company to release our third chapter of United World Rebellion and our first record with ZP.”
Skid Row is rounded out by guitarists Snake Sabo and Scotti Hill and drummer Rob Hammersmith.
Releasing their eponymous debut in 1988, Skid Row are one of the iconic bands from the golden age of hard rock and heavy metal. They’ve released five albums and three EPs.
Their second album, Slave To The Grind, went to number one on the US Billboard charts.
